Spooktober: Blood Drip manicure

Happy Friday lovelies,

I hope you all had a great week! It's been a busy one for me and I am so happy that the weekend is upon us. That doesn't necessarily mean that I won't have anything to do (actually there are tons of scientific papers on my desk waiting to be read), but I just might take it a bit slower this weekend ;)

Today I have for you another Spooktober manicure that I've wanted to do for a while now. The design I aimed for was a simple Blood Drip manicure. I watched several videos on how to do this design but in the end I just did what I thought would look best. Well, it didn't turn out as realistic as I wanted it to be, but still I liked the final result.

As a base color I used one of the Essence Nude Glam polishes called Hazelnut Cream Pie to imitate skin. Actually the polish matched my skin color pretty well, lol. By the way, I love the names of Essence's Nude Glam polishes, they sound so yummy ;) The pinkish shimmer sadly didn't transfer to the nail, but I can live with that. For the blood I used Essence Color & Go in Fame Fatal as well as Essie Skirting The Issue and Manhattan 318 from the Havana Heat limited edition. I tried to fade the colors from a bright red of fresh blood to a dark red of dried blood using a dotting tool and a detailer brush. For this manicure I used Skirting The Issue from Essie's recent Stylenomics collection for the very first time and I cannot wait to wear this polish on its own! It's just too pretty and the color is right up my alley.

Sadly October is about to end soon but I surely will do some more Halloween themed manicures until then. I still haven't decided what to wear on my nails for Halloween though. Have you?

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
