How I have been waiting for this day and seeing all your takes on this theme, my fellow nail polish lovers :) Creating a manicure for Floam Day was so much fun and I am glad Hannah took it into her hands and organized another round of Polish Days. If you don't know what I am taking about, head over to Polly Polish for more info.
OK, now on to the sandwich manicure or in the words of Rie: "Less talkie, more lookie!". But beware - picture heavy post ;)
This may not be the typical jelly sandwich manicure because it didn't start out with a jelly. Instead, I used two coats of China Glaze Flirty Tankini from their recent Summer Neons collection. It's a neon coral color with subtle shimmer. Over this, I layered two thin coats of OPI Servin' Up Sparkle, a silver holographic glitter polish. And finally over this I applied two coats of OPI Guy Meets Gal-Veston, a sorbet from the Texas collection. This jelly is slightly darker than Flirty Tankini so it mutes the base color and also the glitter a bit.
My camera had a hard time capturing this manicure right. Even though I adjusted the color a bit, it is not 100% color accurate. Neons just freak out my camera and I am not an expert when it comes to Photoshop, but I hope you get the idea. This sandwich also is so much sparklier in real life and the holo effect still flashes through the jelly on top.
As you see, my nails are nubbins again. I know some of you vehemently disagree with the term nubbins but for me they feel short compared to before. I had to cut them down after an encounter with the dish-washer... I must admit that I am really starting to like them so I might be rocking some shorties for a while.
I hope you enjoyed my take on a jelly manicure. Now don't forget to check out all those other lovely nails :)
Thanks for reading,<3 Sabine
